Killdeers    Monday May 19, 2008 near Chaska, Minnesota

Two killdeer very loudly "pepew"ing (the best approximation I can come up with for the sound) in my backyard. Took some photos to post later.

Blue Jays    Sunday May 18, 2008 near Mankato, Minnesota

A group of 4 bobbing, whistling and clicking blue jays in a lightly wooded area near the Minnesota River. I had never heard this particular call in my life, which was 2 notes repeated (e.g. CDCD), followed by a click. The surreal sound and the bobbing, bouncing jays was quite a comical experience.

Barn Swallows    Sunday May 18, 2008 near Chaska, Minnesota

A pair of barn swallows are going to nest above my front door for the 2nd year now. This year's nest is nearly complete.
