Notes	-nearby man-made lake trying to thaw; ice on my backyard pond is 5cm(2") thick; geese are micro-dots along far shore!Ha!;taken with my little 3mp at full zoom!
Weather	8c; sunny with cool wind.

There's a pond a few blocks from our house and I've been checking it almost daily but it, too, is ice-covered. It's a good spot to observe ducks, Canada geese, & red-winged blackbirds, but I haven't seen signs of any life at all yet. Will spring ever come???

-started the waterfall in our pond; perhaps this will speed things up! Next step is the transfer of 3 goldfish from inside to outside; have found that birds are really attracted to the sound of water.
