Details COMMON
Notes My friend found this little siskin after it struck her window. No apparent injuries, but the bird has bonded with her and stays perched on her arm (to its own accord) all day. This has been going on for 48 hours now! This picture is low resolution because I took it with my phone, but I was so utterly charmed by her new little companion. I wonder if he/she will come to his senses and fly away?
Weather Mix of sun and cloud, +3.

Oh my, what a sweetie! I hope it recuperates. What will your friend do if the little one decides to stay put?

-let's hope the little bird shows an interest in seeds and water; the behavior would seem to indicate that there was a pretty significant impact. -there is always the Wildlife Rehabilitation Society on Ellerslie Road and 127 Street/ 780-914-4118.

I'm not exactly sure what the legality of wild bird ownership is in Canada, but in the USA, it's illegal (unfortunately) to posses a migratory bird without special government permits. Oh well. Hope he gets well, too! I do love siskins!

I don't have any updates yet, but I did mention the Wildlife Rehab society. I'll keep everyone posted! Jim, what happened to the bird you were looking after?

News: the siskin came to his senses and flew away on the weekend. Maybe he was scared by the impending election. Hah!

Ha! That is good news. He's not the only one whose scared by this election! This is probably the worst one in United States history! I have a feeling that we're going to be a socialist country starting in February, if the leader of the election wins. This whole thing makes me want to fly south! :)

I was actually talking about the recent Canadian election, but I guess we're all in the same boat!
