-only kites that we see up here are on a string! HA! -One of the articles that I read said they catch the larger insects in their talons? -It also mentioned that they sometimes will feed in groups, if the insects are plentiful. -Could this have been what this group of Kites was doing while flying around your house? -Martins and Swallows often will feed in the same manner.

I think so! It says that this sighting is rare, but they're pretty common around here! There were 9 of them, and they were all doing some amazing acrobatic maneuvers. They look a lot like the Peregrine Falcon, in the sense that Peregrines have those swept back wings. However, their wing beats are completely different. Kites have an almost Mourning Dove wing beat, while Peregrines have that powerful one!
