I forgot I had taken these photos last winter, so I wanted to post them! Has anyone else ever seen a shrike in the city?

I have not seen a Shrike in Edmonton. I will watch for them when the Bohemian Waxwings descend on Beaumaris. Thanks for sharing the pictures.

-backyard; saw and heard a male Northern on Dec.12 2001, @ 12:30 PM, high in Mountain ash; song was quite beautiful as he sat in the sun!

-actually, our December 2007( Zone 5) Xmas Bird Count group, saw a Northern perched atop a tall spruce in Hawrelak Park, before we dispersed at about 8:15 AM!

I usually just see the leftover mice and grasshopper pieces skewered on the country fences by the Loggerheads. Hardly ever see the Northern's.
