Great shot! " Nutties" are such neat birds! Nuthatches and chickadees will take from your hand, once they get used to the activity.

Thanks, Jim. My husband & I have tried on several occasions (individually that is - not at the same time) to get the chickadees to come & eat out of our hands, but with no luck. I'm sure some of our neighbors wondered about us when they saw us standing stock-still with hands outstretched for half an hour at a time! LOL We haven't given up though. I think we need to be out in the yard every day, rather than several times a week: as you say, they need to get used to us being out there.

-another method would be to temporarily remove or cover their usual feeder when they arrive and then both of you offer the seed by hand.
