Two days ago I observed it repeatedly lunging at a 1-foot-long Western Diamondback rattlesnake.

That's a very good shot! Thrasher's are such amazing birds. I only get the Brown Thrashers where I live. Foot long Diamondback, huh? I love watching those snakes! Just can't get to close!
