Jacob's Rest
| About | (*Note: "Jacob's Rest" is what my mom called it; our house & 5 acre property we lived on for 6-7 years. I use it to describe that as well as the surrounding area within roughly 3 miles. This includes varying habitats with: a creek and the river it connects to, 2 ponds, quite a lot of open wild field, a cow farm, heavy underbrush, woods of varying thickness and tree types, varying elevations overall being very hilly, farmland and so forth.) |
| Notable birds | I actively birded while living there, and these sightings were the least common of all, though they may be very common for the area (please note that spring & summer were generally the best times, of course): Scarlet Tanager, Bald Eagle, Black & White Warbler, Hooded Merganser, Barn Owl, Blue-winged Warbler, Wood Thrush, Brown Creeper, Yellow-rumped Warbler, Worm-eating Warbler, and Pileated Woodpecker. |
